COVID-19 ALERT 01 | Philippine Government Measures

In line with the on-going rise of casualties by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Philippine Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease, in its issued Resolution No. 11, Series of 2020 yesterday have declared a Code Red Sublevel 2 status in the country. The said resolution contains below salient points which will directly affect Crystal’s operation:

  • The government has now declared the whole of Metro Manila under a state of community quarantine starting 15 March 2020 until 14 April 2020. 
  • During the said period above, land, domestic air and domestic sea travel to and from Metro Manila will be suspended, schools will be closed, government work in the executive department will be suspended (but will have skeletal force; likely to be adopted by the judicial department)
  • Flexible working arrangements are encouraged to be adopted in the private sector. All manufacturing, retail, and service establishments are advised to remain in operation during said period. Provided, that strict social distancing measures are required to be observed by their respective managements
  • Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) shall be allowed to travel to mainland China, except to Hubei Province, upon execution of a Declaration signifying their knowledge and understanding of the risks involved.
  • Agencies of the government are expected to provide guidelines on the implementation of the community quarantine, the situation will be assessed on a day-to-day basis.
